Human beings are the best at this thing called pretending. While some are forced to pretend, others do it on purpose. I'll give you a scenario - an old man playing a harmonica or prolly selling tissue papers outside the subway station and what do people do as they pass him by? Pretend like they didn't see or hear anything. If he is standing there in broad daylight, doing something just to get some sympathy, don't you think we should do something on our part too for the sake of humanity? Sincerely giving him a dollar or two or even the simplest of things; a smile, might lighten a little bit of his burden. Thus the world would be a much better place to live in wouldn't it? However we fail to consider others' misfortune and we are blinded by our own selfishness. Sad enough, the human race is busily grasping on the advancement of time that they are not able to pay the slightest attention to their surroundings. And I as a human being myself am ashamed of how we all are today.
